I am pastor Kevin Dotts and I am delighted to be the pastor at Antioch United Methodist Church on The Rock. I am married to Michelle Dotts and we have three children: Dorion, age twenty-four; Faith, age seven; and Maddison, age six, as well as our daughter-in-law, Kaitlin, age twenty-five, and our grandson Owen who is five. We love to travel and spend time with family and friends.
I am a native of Ohio where I have served five churches (two, two-point charges and one single charge) over the course of twelve years in the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church. I am a 2010 graduate of the University of Findlay and a 2015 graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary. I was made Full Elder at the West Ohio Annual Conference in 2018. I officially transferred to the California-Nevada Annual Conference in 2019.
Due to family circumstances, in early 2016 my wife and I began to earnestly pray that God would open a door for us to serve in one of the two United Methodist Church Annual Conferences in California. God answered our prayer in a wonderful way and we became a part of the family at Antioch United Methodist Church on The Rock located in Antioch, CA in July of 2017. It has been a wonderful adventure to move to Antioch and be given the opportunity to serve this community.
I am a born again, Spirit filled, disciple of Christ. I am a reconciling pastor who seeks justice and inclusion for all regardless of age, sex, national origin, race, culture or sexual orientation. I truly believe that Jesus is The Way for ALL people and we are to welcome ALL people just as Jesus did. I love Jesus with my whole heart and I love teaching and preaching the Good News. I desire, above all else, to be a faithful witness for Jesus and though I know that I fail every day, I know that God is ALWAYS faithful!
